Job Description

Position: Civil Engineer - Project Management

Alta Science and Engineering has an immediate opening with significant career growth opportunity for an experienced licensed civil engineer. This position will work on municipal/civil projects such as stormwater systems, drinking water, wastewater, and roadways. This is a Project Management position based out of Alta’s Kellogg, Idaho office with an opportunity for expansion into projects in the Coeur d’Alene area. The ideal candidate shall be experienced in Public Works contracting and Contract Administration. Candidates shall be self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented, with a positive attitude and the ability to work well with a creative and fun team. This is a full time (40 hours/week), benefited position.

Responsibilities Include:

* Lead design teams for city, county, state, and federal clients

* Work with local clients and agencies on flood control planning and design projects

* Work collaboratively with Alta personnel located in Boise, Moscow, and Kellogg offices

* Manage a variety of planning and design projects

* Prepare project deliverables (design documents, bid packages, reports, memoranda, etc.)

* Interact/communicate with clients and other stakeholders

* Maintain a high degree of professionalism at all times during client and staff interaction

* Actively promote good Health and Safety practices at all times

* Support marketing and business development initiatives

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering

* Idaho PE license

* At least 8 years of relevant professional experience with municipal projects

* Experience administering construction contracts including overseeing construction inspectors

* Effective written and verbal communication skills; strong technical writing skills

* Experience in Project Management

* Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record

Desired Qualifications:

* PE registration, or ability to obtain license, in states adjoining Idaho

* 40-Hour or 24-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Training (per 29 CFR 1910.120) with current 8-hour refresher training is a plus

The salary rate for this positon will be competitive and will include Alta’s full benefit package. The pay rate will be determined based on the candidate’s experience.
