ASCE Inland Empire Section is pleased to present a three-day workshop covering advanced hydraulic modeling tools in HEC-RAS. The hands-on workshop will cover the application of HEC-RAS (1D) to complete the hydraulic design of a bridge, focusing on modeling bridge hydraulics, selecting a bridge modeling approach, setting ineffective flow areas, and troubleshooting warnings and notes. The class will also cover 1D steady flow modeling of inline weirs, with an example application on the hydraulic design of beaver dam analogs. Lastly, the class will also include a basic introduction to HEC-RAS 2D (not at bridges) and provide a discussion on the applicability of 1D vs 2D modeling and an example 2D application. The guiding principles both 1D and 2D HEC-RAS models will be discussed throughout the workshop.


This workshop will take place on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (January 7, 8, and 9). The instructor for the workshop is Dr. Sue Niezgoda, PhD, PE, Gonzaga University

Cost: $500.00 (includes all three-day workshop meetings and light refreshments)
